7-year-old wishes to star in her own Kidz Bop music video and have it go viral

The fun footage was viewed thousands of times on YouTube and social media.

A 7-year-old Wisconsin girl just got her dream to star in her own music video, and the result is adorable.

Ashlin Sanders made her wish with Make-A-Wish Wisconsin to sing “Best Time Ever," an original song by Ashlin's favorite musical group "Kidz Bop."

When she was 3 years old, Ashlin picked up an E. coli infection, which turned into hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) and caused kidney damage. She was diagnosed with end stage renal disease, but received a kidney transplant in June, and is doing well today.

Ashlin's nurse coordinator at the hospital informed her parents that she'd be eligible to make a wish with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Hays applied and within a few weeks, the Wisconsin chapter said it'd be happy to grant Ashlin's wish to make a music video.

In the footage, Ashlin is all smiles as she jumps around with friends and young family members who joined her in the production. The video was recorded in Ashlin's elementary school library.

Part 2 of Ashlin's wish was for her music video to go viral.

The fun, bright footage was viewed thousands of times on YouTube and social media.

“The entire community across Wisconsin has been a part of making Ashlin’s wish come true and the outreach has expanded to countries around the world," said Forrest Doolen, director of marketing and communications at Make-A-Wish Wisconsin. "To date there have been nearly 500,000 views of Ashlin’s music video. We are so grateful that the community has rallied to grant this life-changing wish, and in turn, shown Ashlin that anything is possible.”

Hayes said the two-day experience was a dream come true for her daughter and the other kids.

"They all had an amazing time -- you could see the joy on all their faces," Hays added. "We live in a small town and when we go out places random people will walk up to [Ashlin] and say, 'I saw your music video.'"

Before her wish was granted, Ashlin was happy to meet the actual Kidz Bop singers, her mom said.
