High school dance team recreates Rihanna's Super Bowl halftime show performance
A California school dance team nailed the singer's halftime show choreography.
A California high school dance team has racked up more than 12 million views on TikTok for their flawless recreation of Rihanna's Super Bowl halftime performance.
Members of the Los Osos High School dance team in Rancho Cucamonga, California, organized the Rihanna halftime tribute performance -- complete with costumes and choreography -- for their prom rally.
Rachel Muego, a teacher at Los Osos who directs the team, told "Good Morning America" she is overjoyed by the attention the video has received.
"We put it together in a month and a half," she said. "We're so amazed by it."
The team produced the high-energy performance with whatever resources they could find, Muego said.
"It was pretty low budget. We got donations for our props and we recycled wood. All the camera footage is from my iPhone," she said. "I just edited it all together and we just can't believe how amazing it grew."
The official NFL TikTok account even commented on dance team's video, writing, "This is amazing omg."
Rihanna's official makeup line, Fenty Beauty, also commented, "A whole high school SLAY," and her clothing company, SavagexFenty, wrote, "Ok y'all ate it up."
The students are thrilled about the support they've received so far, Muego said.
"We're cheering and screaming all day, we've been excited," she said. "We turned on the news this morning and we've been over the moon."
