What Are Hottest Hair Looks for Spring?
Jan. 12, 2004 -- If the red carpet is any indication, the hottest hairstyles for spring will be pixie cuts, undone ponytails and the sexy blonde bombshell style made famous by French actress Brigitte Bardot.
Cameron Diaz has been spotted wearing the undone ponytail, Michelle Pfeiffer has tried the long, sexy Bardot look, and Kirsten Dunst has gone for the pixie cut.
Sally Hershberger, executive director for John Frieda Sheer Blonde, says that "sexy, slightly undone and very feminine' styles will be in this spring. Bangs will be worn longer and swept across the face as they grow out. Hershberger has made headlines lately as the highest-priced hairstylist in Hollywood. She charges $600 for a haircut.
To get the looks at home, here are Hershberger's tips on three styles, and the specific John Frieda products she recommends to achieve them:
The Ponytail
The smooth, super-shiny ponytail that graced the runways at spring fashion previews for the hottest designers will be in for spring, Hershberger said
To create the look:
1. Use Frizz-Ease Hair Serum ($9.99, johnfrieda.com) on soaking wet hair to help tame frizz and make hair silky. Separate hair into two-inch sections and use a large round brush to blow dry hair straight, working piece by piece. 2. Next, decide if you want to part your hair in the middle, or on the side and pull hair back into a low ponytail, twisting hair into a bun at the nape of your neck. If you are in the process of growing out last season's bangs, sweep them low across your forehead and to the side, letting them fall in front of one eye. To create the look:
The key to the Bardot look is to use your brush and hair dryer to give your hair a lot of volume.

Flip hair upside down and begin blow-drying, brushing hair away from your scalp for a couple of minutes.
