Fabulous Hot Fudge Sauce
Makes about 1½ cups
4 tablespoons unsalted butter (½ stick)
3 ounces bittersweet chocolate
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
½ cup sugar
½ cup light cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
pinch salt
Combine butter, chocolate, cocoa powder, sugar, cream and salt in a heavy-bottomed saucepan. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly until smooth, and remove from heat. For a thicker sauce, let boil longer. Add vanilla extract and serve immediately.
