Summer Do's and Don'ts: Bikinis, Belts and More

May 31, 2006 — -- Summer has arrived, and so has fashion indecision.

Glamour magazine's executive fashion editor, Suze Yalof Schwartz, has these tips to help make sure you're a fashion "do" this season, and not a fashion "don't."

Don't let your bikini top reveal side or under-cleavage. Do wear a full-coverage suit that fits properly. Your swimsuit can be sexy, but it must fit you well. The only cleavage that should be showing is in the center. If you're larger than a C cup, don't push the bust together.

Don't wear a tunic alone. Tunics are still in. To make them very 2006, you should take the volume of the top you're wearing and define your shape with a belt and skinny jeans. Yes, the '80s are back, so jeans should be fitted!

Don't wear rubber flip-flops to the office. Do wear dressy flip-flops. You can pull off a summer look at the office, but it's not OK to wear rubber flip-flops to work. Bermuda shorts are all the rage this season, and you should pair them with flip-flops that have a leather sole or a small heel for work.
