The End Is Here! Chris Completes His Shape-Up Challenge

Chris completes his weight-loss challenge and shares his favorite moments.

May 29, 2008 — -- "And now, the end is near, and so we face … the final currrrrtaaaaaaain." Or is it?

In fact, the best part of this challenge has been two-fold: hearing from so many of you (I may even keep blogging regularly about news coverage and show events if you all think it would be interesting for you … so let me know!), and the other great aspect has been that this month and a half has been an introduction to a fitness-friendly lifestyle.

I know now that you don't have to go to extremes to get in shape and I enjoy finding new ways to eat and exercise.

Fitting exercise into what can be a hectic schedule has helped me prioritize and re-organize my time, as well as helping me make sure that I take care of myself.

My conclusion: The Challenge worked for me! My belt is a loop+ smaller, and I look and feel better. Even though I lift much lighter weights (by design) than I used to, I can do more push-ups and pull-ups, and simply feel stronger.

Men's Health magazine has been a tremendous resource. Adam Campbell is an editor there and he has been a real mentor to me. (There is also a Women's Health magazine, which is great.) The Men's Health Web site is also chock full of information, notably, it offers an online personal trainer to help set up a program for you. And that's key.

So, this Challenge is a beginning, not an end.

Which brings me to a couple questions: how did it go for you? Do you think we should do fitness segments on the show regularly?

Thanks for weighing in and for watching!
