Retailers like Wayfair, Our Place and JCPenney have already kicked off their early Black Friday deals, as you'll see with some of our top choices below. Meanwhile, Amazon is extending its Black Friday and Cyber Monday sale to give you more time to shop this holiday season with the official event running Nov. 17 through Nov. 27. And that's only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the post-Thanksgiving deals for 2023.

When is Black Friday this year?
Black Friday falls on Nov. 24 this year, the Friday after Thanksgiving.
What should I shop for on Black Friday vs. Cyber Monday?
Cyber Monday is just three days after Black Friday and is strictly an online shopping event. Cyber Monday will be on Nov. 27.
Historically, the days around Black Friday will yield the best deals on electronics, small appliances and other items you buy once per year or less.
Checking items off your gift-giving list for the holiday will be cheaper regardless of which day you choose, but Cyber Monday may yield better results since you have the convenience of online shopping versus trying to snag limited in-store inventory.
Considering Amazon is still a primarily online vendor, they will be ones to watch in every category come Cyber Monday. Last year's deals included steep discounts on Bose headphones, American Girl dolls, Gap apparel and more, so you can expect similar savings once this year's event kicks off.
When are stores open after Thanksgiving?
It's important to know your store hours! For example, Walmart announced they'll be closed on Thanksgiving day for the fourth consecutive year in 2023, and Target has followed suit since 2021. Target CEO Brian Cornell said at the time of the decision: "What started as a temporary measure driven by the pandemic is now our new standard — one that recognizes our ability to deliver on our guests’ holiday wishes both within and well beyond store hours."
Check local stores hours online to see when you can get in the door to shop the next morning, or plan to do your shopping online if you'd prefer staying out of crowded stores.
