Old Navy brings back inclusive Santa PJs with more skin tone colors and patterns

The brand is also inspiring shoppers to take an inclusive Santa training course.

The traditional look of Santa Claus has not always been reflective of all people, and Old Navy is helping to change that by bringing back its Jingle Jammies.

Last year, the retailer debuted its line of holiday-themed PJs featuring Santas in a range of skin tones. Now, the collection is back and expanded to include new patterns and color combinations -- including Hanukkah prints and more.

This season, Old Navy customers' buying options will include gender-neutral matching pajama sets to unisex baby onesies.

The retailer also launched a festive "ALL-idays" television spot featuring actress Keke Palmer.

Old Navy also rolled out an inclusive Santa BOOTcamp which it said is to inspire a more diverse future of Santas, since less than 5% of all professional Santas in the U.S. identify as people of color, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

In partnership with veteran Santa Timothy Connaghan, founder of School4Santas and owner of one of the largest Santa booking agencies in the U.S., Old Navy's Santa training program will be a 30-minute immersive virtual course. According to the company, trainees can expect to learn the fundamentals of becoming Santa, how to respond to children's frequently asked Santa questions, key phrases in both sign language and Spanish, and more. Registration is free online and the training will take place on Nov. 19.

"It's not the red suit or white hair and beard that create holiday magic, it's what you have in your heart," said Connaghan in a statement. "A good Santa should spread joy and exude the holiday spirit, regardless of their appearance."
