Dua Lipa opens up about new music and the next chapter of her life
The global pop sensation gets real about spirituality, new music and more.
Dua Lipa is sitting pretty for the cover of Vogue's latest issue.
The singer was photographed by Tyler Mitchell in a Prada dress, top and shorts.
Lipa shared a shot of the cover on Instagram along with a caption where she thanked the writer of her cover story, Jen Wang, for capturing her at this very point in her life.
"I'm so grateful to have this cover to remind me of my most transformative year so far, where I feel I have moved and changed tremendously on a personal level," said Lipa. "Feeling stronger in myself, proud of the journey it took to get me here and grateful for all the support I've received along the way. Thank you to the wonderful Vogue team for this moment I'll never forget."
Lipa discussed topics ranging from her relationship with spirituality to releasing new music.
She said, "I'm trying to bring people together with music, trying to bring light, you know? There's a cosmic element to sharing songs that make people feel seen or understood."
In addition to focusing on the next phase of her music, Lipa is also putting a heavy focus on herself. "The next chapter of my life is about truly being good with being alone," she said.
"Some people on the internet were like, 'Oh, Dua went out for dinner on her own, blah blah, I do this all the time.,'" Lipa added. "And I think that's amazing if you do it all the time. You must be so confident. But it was a big step for me. I was nervous — like, what am I gonna do? I don't want to be on my phone. I want to know I can just be there for myself, you know?"
Since revealing the cover on Instagram, Lipa's post has received more than one million likes along with many supportive comments.
"Stunning photos to commemorate this moment in time," one YouTube user wrote. Other chimed in with more positive statements, saying, "You're amazing" and "Such a goddess."
The pop sensation also shared a series of other photos where she's styled by Joreden Bickham in a number of alluring looks including a sparkling red Conner Ives dress as well as a crisp white Chloé jacket and pants.
