Gabrielle Union and Zaya Wade shine on 2023 GLAAD Media Awards red carpet

Gabrielle Union and Zaya Wade turned heads in glowing looks at the 2023 GLAAD Media Awards on Thursday.
The mother and stepdaughter duo posed on the red carpet embracing one another while smiling for the cameras.
Union dazzled in a vibrant hooded Moschino gown covered in colorful beadwork and embroidery while Zaya went for a Miu Miu matching set that included a jacket and mini skirt. She completed the look with a white purse and knee-high sandals.
While on the red carpet, Union spoke up about supporting Zaya, who is transgender, and whose father is former NBA star Dwyane Wade. Her mother is Wade's ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches.
"It feels pretty amazing because Zaya is my date tonight and for her to be able to see so many members of her community, of our community, that she's looked up to, that have inspired her, that have held her down and had her back, is pretty huge," she said, speaking with Billboard. "There's not too many moments as a parent where I get to deliver that in this kind of way. So, I'm just pretty thrilled."
She added, "I'm just really happy to be here and happy to be a part of sharing the community with my daughter."
For the last few decades, the GLAAD Media Awards have honored a variety of media figures and outlets for their outstanding representation of LGBTQ communities and the issues that affect their lives.
