Jennifer Lopez turns 53, launches JLo Body
JLo Body's first product sold out in hours but will be back in early August.
Jennifer Lopez had several things to celebrate this weekend: her birthday, her recent marriage to Ben Affleck and the launch of her new line, JLo Body.
The singer, who turned 53 on Sunday, took to Instagram to share a nude photo of herself along with a video in promotion of her latest endeavor.
"We give all this care and attention to the skin on our face, but we sometimes neglect the body," she captioned the sultry clip. "It was important to me to create a skincare routine for the body to address its specific and unique needs, and we started with the booty!"
"Today's my birthday and I am gifting YOU with a special drop of #JLoBody FIRM + FLAUNT Targeted Booty Balm," she added before directing consumers to JLoBeauty.com, where the product retails for $65.
The new product -- the first of the JLo Body line, which is sold under the multi-hyphenate star's JLo Beauty brand -- is packed with a potent mix of active ingredients including guarana seed extract, which is a natural body stimulator containing high caffeine levels; pink pepperslim, which works to help smooth, diffuse and fade the look of stretch marks; squalane to moisturize, soften and soothe the look of fine lines; and a combination of several other powerful add-ins.
JLo Body's Firm + Flaunt Targeted Booty balm sold out in a matter of hours, but according to the company, you can still pre-order the product online at JLoBeauty.com, and the next round of shipments will go out in early August.
JLo Beauty first debuted in 2021.
As "Good Morning America" reported previously, the new line had been in the making for decades and was inspired by Lopez's beauty mantra, "The Five S's": sleep, sunscreen, serum, supplements and Sano.
"Vivir Sano" is a Spanish phrase that translates to "live healthy" -- or living a healthy, sane life -- in English.
"For Jennifer, that means no drinking or smoking, eating healthy, exercising and drinking lots of water," the JLo Beauty website reads.
"I want people to know that this is deeply meaningful for me, that it's personal," Lopez said in a statement about her collection when it first launched. "I've made my own life better by making it more beautiful, by making it more simple. And now I want to share what I've learned with women everywhere."
