Woman inspires many after posting before and after skin care results on TikTok
A new "skinfluencer" is taking TikTok by storm one eye cream at a time.
TikTok has another new star. Her name is Trinidad Sandoval.
She's a 54-year-old Missouri-based woman who has left millions of people in awe after posting incredible before and after results from her experience using Peter Thomas Roth's Instant FIRMx Temporary Eye Tightener.
In a short clip, she demonstrates how she uses her ring finger to dab a small amount of the product under one of her eyes. Shortly after, she uses her hand to fan herself and speed up the product's results.
After fanning herself for less than two minutes, it's very clear to see a visible difference between Sandoval's under-eye area. The side where she applied the product appears smoother, lifted and tighter — revealing instant results.
"I don't know if we are allowed to do this on TikTok, but I just wanted to share this secret with you," she said toward the end of the short clip.
Little did Sandoval that her post would take the popular video-sharing social networking platform by storm. "I woke up in the morning and I was floored. Utterly floored," she told "GMA."
"I still didn't know that it was really public until the next morning, and then I was like, oh. I thought to myself, Trini, there's no way your friends shared this many times," she said.
Since posting, Sandoval's video has been viewed more than 23.8 million times, along with over 112,000 comments.
Celebrities such as Gabrielle Union-Wade were also just as stunned and reposted the now-viral video.
Sandoval said she never paid much attention to TikTok until she was introduced to it by her nephew over the summer.
"On this day, just out of the blue, I don't even know why, I was getting ready for work and I said I'm going to put a TikTok video on because all I had were my friends that were my age, and I was like I'm going to share some beauty secrets."
Sandoval said she would have never shared the post if she knew it was public, as her biggest insecurity is her eyes. After having weight loss surgery over a decade ago, she said that she started to see "bags" under her eyes more prominently.
"That's the first thing I see when I wake up in the morning are my eyes, and I would cry," Sandoval said. "I've tried every product you can think of. I mean, I've tried all of them. I even tried hemorrhoid cream because I've heard that worked."
After almost giving, she said she was introduced to Peter Thomas' eye cream by someone at her local Sephora.
"So, that's the first time I ever heard of Peter Thomas Roth and she put it on one of my eyes, just on one, and I almost started to cry. I was just so happy," she said.
Launched over a decade ago, the product was created to help temporarily tighten, firm and smooth the look of the eye area by minimizing crow's feet, deep wrinkles and puffiness. Key ingredients include glycerin, water, citric acid and many others that work together to give the area around your eyes a refreshed look.
CEO and Founder, Peter Thomas Roth told "GMA" the Instant FIRMx Eye Temporary Eye Tightener has been a customer cult-favorite for years.
Roth explained how he worked with chemists for over a year to formulate the product. "After hundreds of formulas, we nailed it. The final formula includes three skin-tightening silicates and seaweed extract for instant temporary firming and tightening. It also has a trio of peptides that help reduce the look of under-eye bags, fine lines and crow’s feet over time.
"Everyone loves it, but things really went crazy, off-the-charts wild when @trinidad1967 shared her amazing TikTok before and after," said Roth. "Now the word is spreading like wildfire and we keep selling out everywhere. People are obsessed with the instant and fabulous results and how it temporarily eliminates fine lines, deep wrinkles and under-eye bags."
Sandavol, who is an environmental services department (EVS) technician at a hospital, said the results of the cream usually last about eight to 10 hours.
Fast forward almost two years later to being introduced to the product and sharing her great find, Sandavol said she is truly moved by all of the positive feedback and outpouring of inspiring messages from people who have viewed her video and shared how much she's helped them.
She said one person said, "God gave you those bags to help others. He doesn't make imperfections, so you're perfect the way you are and he created you with those bags so you could share."
"It's been like a full-circle moment. Their happiness has brought me happiness, and like I said, it makes it all worthwhile," said Sandavol.
