Everything we know so far about the new Harry Potter coaster coming to Universal Orlando Resort
It's going to be epic.
Ahead of the highly-anticipated new Harry Potter attraction coming to Universal Orlando Resort this year, the theme park has released a few details to the public.
"The epic new addition to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will be an immersive experience unlike any other, combining a new level of storytelling and innovative coaster technology with elaborate environments to bring an all-new wizarding world adventure to life. Guests will embark on a journey with Hagrid – one of the most beloved characters in the Harry Potter films – into the Forbidden Forest to discover some of the wizarding world’s rarest magical creatures," Universal Orlando Resort said.
Here's what we know so far:
It's called Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure
Guests will fly with Hagrid on a thrilling roller coaster ride that plunges into the path of some of the wizarding world’s rarest magical creatures. It will be located at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, joining attractions Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and Flight of the Hippogriff.
It features an actual forest with more than 1,200 live trees
Universal Orlando Resort said Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure "will combine a new level of storytelling and innovative coaster technology with rich environments and sets," including the live trees.
It will open on June 13, 2019.
The ride will reach a maximum speed of 50 miles per hour and guests will need to be 48 inches tall to ride.
It will feature a never-before seen magical creature . . .
Blast-Ended Skrewt is described "as a cross between a giant scorpion and an elongated crab. This creature was created by Hagrid – one of the most beloved characters in the 'Harry Potter' films and the guide of this new experience. During their journey, guests will come face-to-face (or face-to-rear) for the first time ever with the 'Blast-Ended Skrewt' and its dangerous 'blasting end,'" said Universal.

Guests will go face-to-face with Fluffy the three-headed dog; Cornish Pixies, the electric blue tricksters who love to create mischief; Devil’s Snare, a plant with constricting magical abilities and Centaur, a majestic being with a human head, torso and arms joined to a horse's body.
