Dancing Down the Aisle: Jill and Kevin Heinz Wedding Dance Video an Internet Hit

Jill and Kevin Heinz's wedding party aisle boogey is an internet sensation.

July 24, 2009 — -- Jill and Kevin Heinz decided to shake things up a bit, literally, for the usually traditional walk down the aisle. The Heinzes, led by their enthusiastic wedding party, threw on some hip hop and boogied their way through a St. Paul Minn. church on June 20.

Now a video of their dancing wedding party entrance is an Internet sensation, pulling in more than 1.4 million hits on YouTube.

The dance was Jill's idea, something she wanted to do long before she met Kevin, she told "Good Morning America" in an exclusive interview.

"I grew up dancing and I danced in college. It was something I always wanted to do," Jill said. "I wanted to dance in on the wedding. And Kevin jumped in on board."

Kevin wasn't sure at first, but soon agreed for one reason -- "She said 'I do.'"

The video shows several members of the bridal party doing their best personal dances, with varying levels of success.

One tuxedo-clad groomsman walked down the aisle on his hands while others grouped together for more organized productions. Most wore sunglasses, all wore smiles, none had instructions.

"We said 'Go for it,'" Jill said.

For everyone not in the wedding party, the unconventional entrance was a complete surprise. Dozens are seen in the pews exchanging astounded smiles and laughter.

Even Kevin's grandmother got in on the act and danced her way out of the chapel when the wedding was over.

They put the video on the Web for their family and friends to see, but never thought it would become so popular with strangers, Kevin said.

On "GMA" Kevin and Jill broke out a little more of the dancing that made their wedding an online hit, showing that the couple that dances unconventionally together, stays together.
