Milk, yogurt and swiss cheese are just some foods that strengthen bones.
June 29, 2011 -- Foods that Fortify Strong Bones:
Calcium is obviously the most important factor when it comes to strong bones
An 8 ounce cup of milk has 300 milligrams of calcium necessary for your bones
A cup of yogurt or a single slice of Swiss Cheese has about as much calcium as a cup of milk
Reducing the amount of lactose in dairy products does not reduce the amount of calcium
Canned sardines store a nice amount of calcium due to the fish bones
Salmon also features calcium, as well as vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids
Vegetables that contain a lot of calcium include:
Kale
Collard Greens
Turnip greens
Calcium is found within several nuts (pistachios and almonds) as well as sunflower seeds
Protein and other nutrients that are pivotal in building strong bones are found in nuts
Fortified foods are those that do not naturally have calcium but have been manufactured to include it
Breakfast items, such as orange juice and cereal, are prime examples of fortified foods
