Jesse Tyler Ferguson Is 'Fully Committed' to Playing 40 Characters in New Broadway Show

-- “Modern Family” star Jesse Tyler Ferguson is taking over Broadway and is getting standing ovations for his new play, “Fully Committed.” He plays close to 40 characters in the 90-minute show, including a maître d' at New York’s trendiest restaurant, its employees and all of the customers.
“I need to be put in an insane asylum after this show is over,” Ferguson joked on “Good Morning America” today. “It’s been very hard, but it’s been a lot of fun. I started working on it in October, starting to memorize it. I’d been coming in on my weeks off from ‘Modern Family’ and working with a dialect coach, so it’s been a lot of fun.”
Although he’s had a blast working on the Great White Way, he says the show is also stressful “because it’s just me on stage.”
“If I go up on a line I have no one there to help me,” he explained. “We can’t edit that out. It’s just live and raw.”
Take a listen to his hilarious character impressions.
