Kelly Rowland Is on the Hunt for the Next Superstar Girl Group in 'Chasing Destiny'

The singer gave "GMA" a sneak peek at her search for the next girl group.

“I remember Destiny’s Child’s very last tour and looking at Frank [Gatson] and said, ‘I wanna do another girl group of my own,’ and I just hadn’t had the time to do it and I finally had the time to do it,” Rowland said on “Good Morning America” of her new show, “Chasing Destiny,” which will air on BET.

“We wanted to shoot it documentary style," she added. "Thank God BET was on board with us and wanted to do that, and it’s something different. It’s something cool. It’s not a reality show at all, it’s not making the band, it’s not anything like that. We just let the cameras role and we just wanted to see what happened.”

Gatson, the legendary creative director of Destiny’s Child, teamed up with Rowland to search the country for the next superstar girl group.

“We’re going out there and we’re really searching under every rock, every stone, and we just really put the work in,” he said. “There’s talent all over America. And we’re so excited that we found it.”

The music powerhouses also had fun coaching our own “GMA” anchors correspondents and anchors in a guys vs. girls musical showdown.

Watch to see who won the heated competition:
