Lucky Detroit Tigers Fan Catches 5 Foul Balls in One Game
Bill Dugan, 39, caught five foul balls over the course of a Detroit Tigers game.
-- Diehard baseball fans might want to start taking this guy out to the ball game, as he may just be the luckiest fan alive.
Bill Dugan, of Roseville, Michigan, is igniting social media for catching not one, not two, not even three, but five foul balls at the Detroit Tigers’ game against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday.
The Tigers season ticket holder gave all five balls away to thankful kids nearby.
Twitter erupted with people calling Dugan names like “a wizard” and “sticky fingers.”
The lucky fan was feeling so lucky that he went to a casino after the game.
“I placed some money on five thinking that five was the lucky number, catching five balls,” Dugan, 39, told ABC News. “However, I won twice and lost twice so I kind of came out even.”
Unbelievably, Dugan says he has actually gone home with more than five baseballs before.
“I did manage to get eight one time,” he said. “Four during batting practice, and four during a game.”
So what is Dugan’s secret?
“I guess go behind home plate anywhere,” he explained. “You get a lot of foul tips, especially at Comerica Park.”
