Meet the Dad Who Recorded His Daughter’s Epic Selfie-Spree
Dad Secretly Records His Daughter's Epic Selfie-Spree
-- Skylar Beckham loves taking selfies and sending them to her friends.
“I probably take about 50 a day,” Skylar, 13, of Cincinnati, Ohio, told ABC News.
Normally, she’s the one in control of the camera. But this time, her dad, Rob Beckham, took a sneaky selfie of his own, secretly filming Skylar at a stop sign as she was posing, and posing and posing in the backseat of his car.
“I looked in the rear-view mirror and she’s just taking an epic selfie session,” Beckham, 41, explained. “I laughed for about a minute just watching her because she’s totally enveloped in the whole thing.”
Beckham put the whole selfie-taking session on Facebook and YouTube, where it quickly got more than one million views.
“It made me crack up laughing,” he said. “That’s why I first put it on Facebook to begin with. Then I put it on YouTube just to hopefully make other people crack up, too. So I hope that’s happening, because it’s pretty funny.”
Skylar’s not mad at her dad, she’s just taking her new-found fame in stride.
“When I found out he was recording it, I was just laughing at it,” she said.
“She’s like, ‘Dad, I look like a goofball,’” Beckham recalled. “I’m like, ‘Of course you do. That’s why I filmed it.’”
But she’s learned an important lesson from her time as a social star.
“If you’re trying to take embarrassing pictures, try to make sure your parents aren’t recording because this might happen to you,” said Skylar.
