Neve Campbell Had 'No Idea' 'Scream' Would be a Classic After 20 Years
This year makes the 20th anniversary of the horror movie.
-- This year marks 20 years since Neve Campbell nailed her role as Sidney Prescott in the 1996 horror film, “Scream.”
The actress chatted with “Good Morning America” co-anchor Amy Robach today about her latest role in “House of Cards” and the anniversary of the cult classic featuring "Ghost Face."
“We had no idea [it’d be a classic]," Campbell said. "We knew it was a good script and we knew Wes Craven was amazing, but when we started we were shooting in Santa Rosa—none of us really had names yet. None of us were famous except for Drew Barrymore."
“We joked, ‘Do you think [Ghost Face] would be a Halloween costume?’” she continued. “But we had no idea there actually would be.”
Campbell, who joined has joined the cast of "House of Cards" for season four, said she took time off for her son, but is glad to be working again.
“I knew coming back that I wanted to be careful about the decisions I made,” she said.
“Here was this show that was fantastic,” Campbell added. “I’m a fan of it—great cast, great writing so I couldn’t have asked for better.”
