Sextuplet Love: Strangers Help 6 Beautiful Babies
McGhee couple said strangers have poured in support for their kids.
Oct. 28, 2010 -- In a picture that has prompted "oohs" and "aahs" across the Internet, Rozonno McGhee lies on his stomach surrounded by his six -- yes, six -- newborn babies.
The McGhee sextuplets, born to Rozonno and Mia McGhee June 9, are only the second set of sextuplets to be born in Ohio and the first born in Columbus, where they reside.
The couple had had trouble conceiving, so when six children came all at once, they were astounded but thankful.
"It's a dream come true," Rozonno McGhee told "Good Morning America" today.
But as the pressures of caring for so many children mounted, more surprises were in store for the McGhees. Family, friends, church groups and complete strangers started to pitch in. A Facebook page suddenly appeared one day, dedicated to the sextuplets.
"We did not know the person who set the page up for us," the new mother said. "They are friends of a friend."
Rozonno said the page had 26 hits the first day they looked at it. By the next morning, however, there were about 3,000.
Strangers Heap on Support Online
Other strangers have offered free services on the page, from public relations to a free website to help raise funds for the children.
And because the McGhees suddenly have to deal with six times the challenges, including many, many sleepless nights -- the babies sleep three or four hours at a time, but in shifts -- the help is much appreciated.
