Official Rules For 'Good Morning America's' 'Girls' Week Out' Contest
HOW AND WHEN TO ENTER:
"Good Morning America" wants to whisk you and your girlfriends away from it all in a big way!
It's a "Girls' Week Out" blowout fantasy! A once-in-a-lifetime chance for you and up to nine of your nearest and dearest gal pals to take a real break from your hectic lives with fun in the sun, compliments of Norwegian Cruise Line!
All you have to do is send us your story of amazing friendship -- the trials and triumphs you have lived through "with a little help from your friends!" If we pick your essay, your crew of gals will spend a week on a dream Caribbean cruise aboard the Norwegian Jewel.
Essay must be 500 words or less. Include contact information for up to 10 members of your entry team, including name, address and daytime telephone numbers where each of you can be reached. You may include a photograph of your group of friends. Any photographs submitted remain the property of "Good Morning America" and will not be returned.

For Internet entries, sponsors are not responsible for failed, partial or garbled computer transmissions, or for technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to electronic malfunction or damage of any network, hardware or software. If for any reason the contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, other causes beyond sponsors' control that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the contest, sponsors reserve the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the contest. No responsibility is assumed for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries; or any problems or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or electronic entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to entrant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials from this contest.
ELIGIBILITY AND GUIDELINES:
You enter this contest as a member of an Entry Team. An Entry Team consists of up to 10 members made up of you and your girlfriends. All members of each Entry Team must be female, legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia at time of entry, and be 21 years of age on or before Feb. 5, 2006. You may be a member of only one Entry Team for this contest, entering as a member of more than one Entry Team by an individual will disqualify that individual from further participation.
Any individuals (including but not limited to employees, consultants, independent contractors and interns) who have, within the past six months, performed services for American Broadcasting Companies Inc., NCL (Bahamas) Ltd. d/b/a NCL, or any organizations responsible for sponsoring, fulfilling, administering, advertising or promoting the contest or supplying the prize, and/or their respective parent, subsidiary, affiliated and successor companies, and immediate family and household members of such individuals, are not eligible to enter. "Immediate family members" shall mean parents, stepparents, children, stepchildren, siblings, stepsiblings or spouses. "Household members" shall mean people who share the same residence at least three months a year.
HOW AND WHEN WINNERS WILL BE SELECTED:
Winning Teams will be announced on or before Jan. 18, 2006. Entry Essays will be judged by "Good Morning America's" panel of judges, based on compelling nature of essay, originality, creativity, potential for on-air appeal, and appropriateness for "Good Morning America." Decision of the judges is final.
All entrants must be available to travel to Miami and to spend the week of Feb. 5 to 12 aboard the Norwegian Jewel. All Entry Team members must be included at the time of entry, additional participants or a change in participants is not permitted. Appearance in photo or photo attachment alone does not qualify, Entry Team members must be identified in writing at the time of entry. In the event an Entry Team is deemed ineligible, fails to comply with contest procedures, or is not available to travel during specified dates, prize will be forfeited, and may be awarded to an alternate Entry Team, selected based on the same criteria, time permitting.
PRIZES:
There will be a minimum of 15 Grand Prize winning Entry Teams consisting of up to 10 members each. Each member of a winning Entry Team will be designated an individual winner and will be responsible for all responsibilities associated with being deemed a Winner. All Winning Entry Teams must be available to travel to Miami and travel aboard the Norwegian Jewel cruise ship during the week of Feb. 5, 2006. Prize includes round-trip coach class airfare to and from an airport near Winner's home for each designated Winner and seven (7) days and seven (7) nights aboard the Norwegian Jewel cruise ship. Ground transportation will not be provided between Winner's home and the departure airport, or between the Miami airport and the port. All meals will be provided (no alcohol and other restrictions apply). All accommodations for Winners aboard the Norwegian Jewel Cruise ship are double occupancy. In the event your Entrant Team consists of an odd number of entrants one participant will be given he own cabin. If the appearance on "GMA" is canceled or postponed for any reason, balance of trip will be awarded in full satisfaction of prize, and no additional prize will be awarded.
All expenses not mentioned above, including but not limited to tips, surcharges, service charges, excursion fees, special services and restaurant upgrades, are the sole responsibility of each Winner.
Taxes: Federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of each individual Winner. Each member of a Winning Entry Team will be required to submit a properly completed Form W-9 in order to qualify to receive Prize. Each member of a Winning Entry Team will be issued an IRS Form 1099, in accordance with IRS rules and regulations, reflecting the fair market value of the prize package awarded to that member of a Winning Entry Team. Approximate retail value of this prize is up to $4,100 per cabin, including airfare. (In the event a cabin is shared, each Winner will be responsible for up to $2,050; if, due to an odd number of Entry Team members, a Winner receives private cabin accommodations Winner will be responsible for up to $4,100.)
Exchange/transfer of prizes: Winners are not entitled to transfer prizes or to obtain substitutes, but sponsors in their sole discretion may substitute prizes of equal or greater value.
HOW WINNERS WILL BE NOTIFIED; PROOF OF AGE AND IDENTITY; AFFIDAVITS AND RELEASES:
Winners will be notified by phone. Potential winner forfeits the prize if not claimed within three days of first attempted notification, or, if after reasonable attempts are made, notification is unsuccessful.
To claim prize, (a) Winner must provide proof of age, identity and residency, and (b) Winner must sign and return affidavit of eligibility/compliance with rules, publicity/liability release (where permitted by law) and indemnification, within the time period specified by "Good Morning America."
CONDITIONS ON ENTRY/MISCELLANEOUS:
By entering this contest, entrants agree to be bound by contest rules and by decisions of sponsors, which are final as to all contest-related matters. In addition, by participating in this contest and accepting any prize that they may win, entrants agree to release American Broadcasting Companies Inc., NCL (Bahamas) Ltd. d/b/a NCL and their parent, subsidiary, affiliated and successor companies, advertising and promotion agencies and prize suppliers, and each of their respective officers, directors, agents, representatives and employees (collectively, the "Released Parties") from any and all actions, claims, injury, loss or damage arising in any manner, directly or indirectly, from participation in this contest and/or acceptance or use of any of the prizes. Entrants also authorize the Released Parties to use their name, voice, likeness, biographical data and city and state of residence in programming or promotional material or on a winner's list (if applicable) without further compensation unless prohibited by law.
American Broadcasting Companies Inc. reserves the right to terminate, modify or suspend this Promotion due to any of the following reasons: act of God; unavoidable accident; epidemic; fire; blackout; act of public enemy; war, riot or civil commotion; enactment, rule, order or act of government or governmental instrumentality or tribunal; strike, lockout or other labor dispute; inclement weather; the recapture of any time period scheduled for the live telecast of a program for an event of national importance or emergency; failure of technical facilities; failure of essential production, or technical personnel to appear or be available for production or broadcast; or other cause of a similar or different nature. By entering, Entrant agrees that should this Promotion be terminated for any reason Entrant irrevocably waives any right to seek and/or obtain rescission and/or equitable and/or injunctive relief.
Being selected as a Winner and participation in the cruise does not guarantee any Winner's appearance on television.
