2008 MORE's Reinventing the F-word Contest

— -- Contest begins June 24, 2008 and ends September 30, 2008. Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m., E.T., on August 18, 2008. Entries become the property of Meredith Corporation, 1716 Locust St., Des Moines, IA and American Broadcasting Companies, Inc., 77 West 66th Street, New York, New York 10023 ("Sponsors") and will not be acknowledged or returned. Entrants must have Internet access and photo uploading capabilities prior to June 24, 2008 to enter.

THERE ARE TWO WAYS TO ENTER: 1 For a photo entry, visit www.more.com/fword and click on the link to enter the Contest. Complete the registration form, then follow the links and instructions to upload a photo (must be taken on or after June 24, 2008) of yourself illustrating your favorite F-word as well as a caption of 30 words or less about why you chose that word. 2 For a video entry, go to www.abcnews.com/moreword and follow the links and instructions to upload a 60-second video of yourself illustrating your favorite F-word. One photo and caption or video per entry.

Photos must be .jpeg or .bmp image formats and cannot exceed 3 MB. Videos must be Quicktime MOV, WMV, MPG or AVI formats and cannot exceed 30 MB. Photos and videos must be original, non-professional, unpublished and may not have won any prize or award.

Any materials that may be considered offensive may be eliminated from further consideration at the Sponsors' sole discretion.

By submitting entry materials, entrants certify that such materials are original and created by entrant, that entrants have the necessary rights, permission and authority to submit such materials, and, if applicable, that entrants maintain a valid copyright in the materials. Entrants acknowledge that such materials may be included and/or discussed in a broadcast or otherwise, that such discussion may include statements or opinions by the broadcast talent or others about the entrants, the entrants' appearances and/or the materials, and that those statements and opinions may be considered surprising, humiliating, embarrassing, derogatory, defamatory or otherwise offensive or injurious to them, Sponsors' employees, its studio or at-home audience and/or other third parties. Entrants release Meredith Corporation, American Broadcasting Companies, and their respective parent, subsidiary, affiliated and successor companies, advertising and promotion agencies and prize suppliers, and each of their respective officers, directors, agents, representatives and employees, as well as each of their respective successors, representatives and assigns (collectively, the "Released Parties") from any actions, claims, injury, loss or damage allegedly caused, directly or indirectly, by any such statements or opinions made during a broadcast.

Entrants authorize the Released Parties to use their name, voice, likeness, biographical data, city and state of residence and entry materials in programming or promotional material, worldwide, in perpetuity, or on a winner's list, if applicable, without further compensation unless prohibited by law. Sponsors are not obligated to use any of the above-mentioned information or materials, but may do so and may edit such information or materials, at Sponsors' sole discretion, without further obligation or compensation.

ELIGIBILITY: Open to women who are legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia and are 40 years of age or older. Employees of Sponsors and any other organizations affiliated with the sponsorship, fulfillment, administration, prize support, advertisement or promotion of the contest and/or their respective agents, affiliates, subsidiaries, and members of their immediate families or persons residing at the same address are not eligible.

JUDGING: There will be three rounds of judging. In the first round, on or about August 19, 2008, thirty (30) semi-finalist entries will be selected by judges appointed by Sponsors from among all eligible entries based on (1) effective expression of the entrant's idea of her favorite "F-Word," with clear and appropriate examples (34%); (2) entrant's personality and appeal as depicted in the entry materials and as determined by the judges in their sole judgment (33%); and (3) recommendations from visitors to the contest websites (33%). Sponsors reserve the right to request additional photos from semi-finalists. Sponsors reserve the right to select fewer than thirty (30) semi-finalists if, in their sole discretion, they do not receive a sufficient number of eligible and qualified entries.

In the second round, on or about September 15, 2008, five (5) finalists will be selected from the thirty (30) semi-finalists by judges appointed by Sponsors, based on the same criteria applied in the first round. If a tie occurs in either round, the entry having the highest score in the criterion of effective expression of the entrant's idea of her favorite "F-Word," with clear and appropriate examples will be deemed the winner. Decisions of judges are final and binding in all respects.

In the third round, on or about September 30, 2008, judges appointed by Sponsors will select one (1) grand prize winner based on effective expression of the entrant's idea of her favorite "F-Word," with clear and appropriate examples (50%) and entrant's personality and appeal as depicted in the entry materials and as determined by the judges in their sole judgment (50%). In event of a tie, tied entries will be re-judged according to the criteria listed above by an additional, previously uninvolved judge who will serve as the tiebreaker.

PRIZING: One (1) Grand Prize: The Grand Prize winner will receive $1,000.00. Two (2) runners-up will receive MORE gift bags (valued at $200).

Sponsors reserve the right to substitute prizes (or portions thereof) of equal or greater value if prizes (or portions thereof) cannot be awarded as described. Sponsors will determine all elements of prizing in their sole discretion. Prizes may not be assigned, transferred, or changed, except at the sole discretion of Sponsors. Prizes are awarded "as is" with no warranty or guarantee express or implied. Sponsors disclaim all and any liability for the actual provision, quality or nature of any third party product or service accepted by the winners. The awarding of any prize is contingent upon full compliance with these Official Rules. Entrants agree to be bound by Official Rules and agree that if any winner fails to provide proof of identity, refuses to provide required affidavit, is found to have violated the Official Rules or otherwise does not meet eligibility criteria, prize will be forfeited and awarded to the next runner-up. Entrants understand that Sponsors are not liable for injuries, losses or damages of any kind arising from participation in this promotion and acceptance, possession and use of prize. Sponsors are not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the contest or in the announcement of the prize. Decisions of Sponsors are final and binding in all respects.

PRIVACY: By entering and providing the required entry information, you acknowledge that Sponsors may contact you regarding this Contest and may also send you information, samples or special offers they think may be of interest to you about Meredith's publications or other complementary goods or services offered by Sponsors, or other companies they may carefully select. DISPUTE RESOLUTION: Except where prohibited, by participating Contest entrants agree that: All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of participant(s) and Sponsors and their agents shall be governed by and construed exclusively in accordance with the laws of the State of New York without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law of any jurisdiction. Entrant agrees that any action at law or in equity arising out of or relating to this Contest, or awarding of the prizes, shall be filed only in the state or federal courts located in the State of New York and entrant hereby consents and submits to the personal jurisdiction of such courts for the purposes of litigating any such action. Except where prohibited, by participating in this Contest, entrant agrees that: (a) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, or awarding of the prizes, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; and (b) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with participating in this Contest but in no event attorneys' fees; and (c) under no circumstances will any participant be permitted to obtain awards for and hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitations or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so the above may not apply to you.

OTHER: Sponsors assume no responsibility for entries they are unable to process due to network, hardware or other technical failures; or any other reason, or incomplete, damaged, misdirected, illegible, stolen or lost e-mail, mail, on-site or online entries. Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole discretion to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the web site or otherwise in violation of the rules. Sponsors further reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to cancel, terminate or modify this promotion if not capable of completion as planned, including infection by computer virus, technical corruption, non-authorized human intervention or force majeure. In the event of cancellation, Sponsors reserve the right to select winners from among all eligible entries received prior to date of cancellation. The use of automated entry systems or any other conduct that impedes the integrity of the contest is prohibited. In the event of a dispute regarding online entry, entry will be deemed made by the holder of an established e-mail account associated with the entry.

GENERAL: Except where prohibited by law: (i) entry constitutes permission to use entrant's entry, name, hometown, voice, likeness, photograph and any statements regarding this contest for editorial, public relations, promotional and advertising purposes on behalf of Released Parties without compensation, worldwide in perpetuity, or on a winner's list, if applicable; Released Parties are not obligated to use any of the above mentioned information or materials, but may do so and may edit such information or materials, at Released Parties' sole discretion, without further obligation or compensation; (ii) potential winners will be required to complete and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability Release and Publicity Release within five (5) days of notification or the entry with the next highest score may become an alternate winner. If winner notification is returned as undeliverable, the entry with the next highest score may become an alternate winner. By participating and winning a prize, winners release Sponsors, and their parents, affiliates, subsidiaries and agencies and their respective directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability with respect to the prize won and participation in the contest.
