Understanding the Different Settings On Your Dryer

This is when to use Permanent Press, Damp Dry or Air Fluff on your dryer.

July 07, 2011 -- When To Use Permanent Press

Permanent press setting and turning clothes inside out is best for colored fabric as this will minimize the color fading.

Permanent press should also be used for:

Any man-made fabrics like nylon or polyester

Clothes that are labeled "tumble dry" or "tumble dry medium"

Clothes that are labeled "permanent press."

When To Use Damp Dry

Use the "Damp Dry" setting for clothing that is not "permanent press" and will be ironed after.

When To Use Air Fluff

The air fluff setting uses no heat at all.

This setting is good for:

Softening a pair of jeans

Refreshing clothes that are dry clean only by adding a fabric sheet to the dryer

Drying shower curtains or any item that can be ruined by drying them with heat
