Are There Pills I Can Take To Improve My Memory, And Thus Decrease My Risk For Alzheimer's?
Dr. Gary Small answers the question: 'Pills to Improve Memory Or Reduce Risk?'
May 4, 2009 -- Question: Are there pills I can take to improve my memory, and thus decrease my risk for Alzheimer's?
Answer: We currently have several pills that can help patients who already have a diagnosis of Alzheimer's. But, unfortunately, there aren't any pills that have been shown to lower the risk for Alzheimer's or at least prevent its onset. Researchers are looking at that question right now. We hope in the future we will be able to get a brain test to find those people who might benefit from this kind of medication and possibly reduce risk in the future.
