What Is The Relationship Between Depression And Anxiety Disorders?
Dr. Philip Levendusky answers the question: 'Depression And Anxiety Disorders?'
-- Question: What is the relationship between depression and anxiety disorders?
Answer: Many professionals feel that there is a close relationship between depression and anxiety disorders. You often see it in two different fashions. One, where the depression is actually expressed through the symptoms of an anxiety disorder and secondarily where depression and anxiety can be co-occurring.
So the person can have symptoms that are consistent with depression -- a mood disorder -- and at the same time have those kinds of symptoms that would be consistent with an anxiety disorder. So the combination of the two co-occurring is very common.
