Dr. Barry Rovner answers the question: 'Meds To Avoid With Antidepressants?'
-- Question: Are there any medications with which antidepressants should not be combined in seniors?
Answer: Antidepressants are relatively safe medications and don't have adverse interactions with other medications. There are a few exceptions though. Some antidepressants raise blood pressure and shouldn't be taken in people who have a high blood pressure. Other antidepressants have adverse interactions with medicines that can boost blood pressure and cause problems.
