-- Question: What Are Triglycerides And What Does It Mean To Have Elevated Triglyceride Levels?
Answer: Triglycerides are a type of fat that are very important sources of energy to our muscles and our heart and other parts of our body.
A high triglyceride, however, can be a high risk factor for heart disease, for coronary artery disease. It's not as bad as a risk factor as the bad cholesterol-- the LDL-- but it can be a risk factor.
