Dove Recalls Seasonal Chocolate Because of Unlisted Allergens

The recall affects 35 states.

— -- Thousands of cases of Dove's seasonal chocolate snowflakes are being recalled across the country after a costumer found a piece of Snickers in one of the assortment bags.

"People who have allergies to peanuts, wheat and/or eggs have the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products," the company said in a statement. "We are fully cooperating with the FDA on this matter. Food safety and product quality are of paramount importance to Mars, and we are committed to the highest standards for all of our products."

No injuries or adverse reactions have been reported, the statement said.

Mars would not name the retailer who sold the chocolate snowflakes but said stores in 35 states are affected.
