Kate Middleton's 'Royal Romance' Goes Gaga

April 14, 2011— -- "I want your lovin' just get rid of the prince you and me could write a bad romance." No, these are not lyrics to Lady Gaga's latest hit, but rather a music video from The Other Guys that is sure to go viral.

This eleven-man a cappella group from St. Andrews University, founded in 2004, created a version of "Bad Romance" called "Royal Romance" in honor of the upcoming royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Parts of the video were filmed at Scotland's St. Andrews, the very same campus where Kate Middleton and Prince William met.

The video makes references to the day Prince William set eyes on Kate Middleton at the university's student fashion show: "Walk, walk, fashion baby she's a regal catwalk lady. Walk, walk, fashion baby see through dresses drive me crazy."

But the singer who wants to win Kate over has one obstacle in his way, Prince William. "I want you baby, you might be the one. The only problem, you're Kate Middleton."

The music video is light-hearted and entertaining, but also represents the affection for, and pride of, Prince William and Kate Middleton in the town where their romance blossomed, according to a news release. The Other Guys said they will donate a "substantial portion of any proceeds" to the Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton Charitable Gift Fund.

The music video, which is on the YouTube charts with about 40,000 views and growing, was filmed and recorded by students, according to The Other Guys' YouTube page.

"The video was simply made as a celebration of the wedding and to put a smile on people's faces; we never envisioned such a positive and widespread response. We are absolutely delighted that 'Royal Romance' has reached so many; we just hope Kate likes it too!" Ollie Boesen, director of "Royal Romance," said in the release.

"Eleven guys, eleven voices, no instruments and one princess: Can they change her mind?" the release said.
