Royal Wedding Attracts Hundreds of Thousands of Tourists
April 27, 2011 -- Royal wedding fever has landed in London, as an estimated 600,000 tourists descend on the city to celebrate the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton. While visitors have flown in from across the globe, tourism experts say the number of Americans in London is up 20 percent this month, thanks to Will and Kate.
Sheree Troy of Lincolnton, N.C., is among them.
"I want to feel the crowds," Troy said. "I want to come back here and say, 'Oh, we were there.'"
And feel them she will. Navigating the streets of London, especially around royal wedding-related attractions, like Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey, is nearly impossible. What does it feel like to share the streets with fellow tourists from all around the world? Watch Wedding Royale's Gabriel O'Rorke brave the crowds, as long as you're not claustrophobic.
