Third American Killed in Brussels Attacks Identified as Air Force Officer's Wife

The woman's husband and their four children remain hospitalized.

The family was at the Brussels airport preparing to get on a flight to the U.S. when the bombings took place, a military official said on the day of the attacks.

Farenthold offered his condolences to Martinez's family, saying her life was "tragically cut short."

"In our battle against ISIS, we must focus on making sure innocent people are not harmed, while the strategy of ISIS is to kill innocent people, Farenthold said. "I call on President Obama to deliver a comprehensive strategy to defeat ISIS, root out terror, and ensure that no other family will have to bear a similar tragedy.”

American couple Justin and Stephanie Shults were also killed in the series of attacks. They were confirmed dead on Sunday after having been missing since Tuesday.
