-- On the night following the crash of Metrojet Flight 7K9268 in Egypt this past weekend, Larisa Pulyanov could scarcely walk her grief was so great. At the emergency reception point for relatives of victims, her husband, Anatoly, tried to guide her gently, himself pale and stunned. Their son Roman had been aboard with his girlfriend, Tatiana Mokievskaya.
Roman, 29 and Tatiana, 27, had been intending to get married, their parents said. They had not wanted the couple to fly to Sharm el-Sheikh, preferring them to save the money for the wedding.
Like other relatives of the 224 people killed in the crash, the Pulyanov’s are now waiting to identify the remains of their son. A plane carrying Roman’s body arrived in St. Petersburg on Sunday.
Two days since his death, at the same reception point close the airport where Roman was supposed to arrive, they tried to talk about their son and the emptiness they saw in a future without him.
