Dozens Killed After Migrant Boat Capsizes off Egyptian Coast

— -- A crowded boat of migrants capsized off the coast of Egypt today, killing dozens.

At least 29 people were killed, Egyptian officials told The Associated Press. The total number of dead remains unknown, however, a spokesman for the Egyptian Health Ministry told The AP this afternoon.

Alaa Osman, a local official from Beheira province, added that the migrants on board were from several African countries, and so far 155 people have been rescued. The boat carried approximately 600 people, according to The AP, meaning hundreds of people remain unaccounted for.

The boat capsized about 112 miles north of Cairo in the Mediterranean Sea.
