Eiffel Tower Lit Up in France's National Colors to Honor Victims
The iconic landmark glows in white, blue and red.
-- The Eiffel Tower was awash in patriotism today when it was lit up in France's national colors in tribute to the victims of Friday's attacks.
The mayor of Paris requested that the national monument be lit up in blue, white and red and the special display is scheduled to last until Wednesday.
In addition to the bright colors, the Latin motto of the city of Paris -- "Fluctuat Nec Mergitur" which translates to "Tossed But Not Sunk" -- will also be displayed.
Normally, the Eiffel Tower is lit up in a uniform glow and has extra sparkles on the hour in the evenings.
