Fish Trapped Inside Jellyfish Struggles to Break Free in Once-in-a-Lifetime Photos
"It was so strange and unusual," said photographer Tim Samuel.
-- Photos of a living fish trapped inside a jellyfish have gone viral after they were posted on Instagram by an Australian marine photographer.
Tim Samuel told ABC News he snapped the photos months ago while snorkeling with a friend in Byron Bay, Australia.
"When I saw it, I was filled with amazement and curiosity," he said. "I had never seen anything like it. It was so strange and unusual, and it was really interesting to see how it would move through the water. The fish propelling the jellyfish, but wobbling around, and being thrown off course by the jellyfish, sometimes being forced into swimming in circles."
Samuel said he did not attempt to set the fish free, but watched as nature played out in a fight of survival of the fittest.
"Going out into nature and opening myself up to the possibilities of the world, and embracing a beautiful and unique moment in time is what I live for," Samuel said. "Being able to share that moment with other people through photography is a special thing."
