X-Ray Shows Tongs Stuck in a Python's Stomach
The Australian pet bit off more than it could handle.
-- A pet python being fed a dead rat by his owner who was using tongs decided instead to eat the tongs.
Now the Australian snake, named Winston, is recovering following surgery after a veterinarian was required to remove that tongs.
"I can remember Dr. Oliver saying to me, 'Now are you sure the tongs are in his belly?' And I said, unequivocally, 'Yes, you can read the brand name of the tongs through his skin," owner Aaron Rouse told Australia's Channel 9.
Dr. Oliver Funnell, a veterinarian at the University of Adelaide, told the station that in his nearly 20 years of practice, he's never seen anything like it.
Winston is now recovering from surgery and rather than seeing the shape of the tongs, some stitches are all that now remain.
