Terror Suspect's Fingerprint and Explosive Material Found After Raid in Belgium

The raid was on an apartment in Schaerbeek, in the Belgian capital.

— -- Explosive material and a fingerprint of a key suspect in last year’s Paris attacks in which 130 were killed have been found in an apartment in Brussels, officials said in a statement today.

The findings were made after a raid on an apartment in Schaerbeek, a district of the Belgian capital, on Dec. 10.

"Material that can be used to fabricate explosives as well as traces of TATP were found," the federal prosecutor said in a written statement, adding that the apartment had been rented under a false name.

Officials did not explain why it took them a month to release the findings.

"Three handmade belts that might be used to transport explosives as well as a fingerprint of Salah Abdeslam were also discovered," the prosecutor said.

Since the investigation began, Belgian authorities have arrested 10 people in relation to the attacks and the alleged attackers.
