ABC News Correspondent Mara Schiavocampo Welcomes a Boy, Cruz Achille Porter

The ABC News correspondent, 35, gave birth to her second child.

— -- ABC News correspondent Mara Schiavocampo and her husband, Tommie Porter, welcomed their second child today, a healthy baby boy named Cruz Achille Porter.

"Achille was my grandfather's name," Schiavocampo, 35, explained.

She gave birth to their son at 5:33 a.m. in New York City. The baby, who was due on January 11, weighed in at 7 pounds, 11 ounces.

The baby “arrived lightning fast overnight,” the happy mom wrote, “10 minutes after we got to the hospital before we even completed our admission paperwork.”

He joins 4-year-old big sister, Nina.

In July, Schiavocampo announced her pregnancy on "Good Morning America" weeks after ABC News Chief Meteorologist Ginger Zee shared her baby news.

At the time Schiavocampo said her husband was rooting for a boy. She said she couldn't be happier for the new addition.

“We're calling the baby 'the sequel' for now," Schiavocampo said, adding that "becoming a mom is the best thing that ever happened to me ... I'm just so excited and thrilled and blessed."

"I'm craving hard candy like crazy,” she explained in July of her pregnancy sweet tooth, but "trying to stay away by eating fruit."
