-- ABC News Correspondent Sara Haines and her husband, Max Shifrin, welcomed their first child, a healthy baby boy.
Haines, 38, gave birth to Alec Richard Shifrin at 1:52 p.m. Saturday in New York City. The baby, named after their fathers, weighed in at 7 lbs. and 5 ounces.
Both Haines and her baby are doing well. Alec arrived ahead of the March 9 due date.
Haines shared a photo of their "little man" on Instagram and thanked everyone for the well wishes.
"We are excited, exhausted, and possibly still in shock, but soaking it all in," she wrote. "Thank you for the encouraging words. It will take a village to raise this little man :)."
Haines and Shifrin, who wed in November of 2014, reside in New York City.
