Australian Woman Decorates Home Entirely in Pink

Kim Woods, 46, would make Barbie proud.

— -- Move over Barbie! Get back Elle Woods! You two have nothing on one Australian woman's obsession with the color pink.

Kim Wood has been decorating her home in the Stratton neighborhood of Perth, Australia, in pink for nearly two decades. Her obsession started when she was 18 years old.

"I love pink. It's a calming color," Wood, 46, told ABC News. "I bought an electric fan that was pink and in those days pink was very hard to get, especially for appliances. My obsession grew from there slowly and 16 years later I have a house full of pink!"

Wood said she looks high and low to find anything in pink. She shops garage sales and even second-hand stores to locate pink items for her home.

She has no idea how much she's spent on collecting pink trinkets, only noting, "I don't go ridiculous."

Her most recent prized possession is a light pink Smeg toaster and kettle that her husband of six years, Tony, bought her for Christmas.

"It's beautiful and I was very lucky my husband got it for me," she gushed. "Because they were a little expensive."

So what does Tony think of all of the pink in his home?

"I think it's growing on him to be quite honest," Wood said of her husband. "He doesn't take notice of what's around him really. Once he finishes work, he just kicks back and watches TV. He only takes notice of it when people ask, 'What do you think about the color?' And then he goes, 'Hmm well, let's just say it's her thing.'"

And it's not just inside her home. Wood also decorated her garden with tons of pink flowers and even her holiday lights are light pink and magenta.

"I've got pink Santas at the moment and I've even gotten little white Christmas trees with pink roses going through them," she said. "You've got to love where you live because that's your sanctuary from the world. So surround yourself with the things you love regardless of what it is that you like."
