Bride breaks down in tears when groom surprises her with a puppy

The bride first saw the dog at her wedding reception.

— -- A bride who incorporated her love of a dog breed into her wedding vows was later surprised by her groom with a puppy -- at their wedding reception.

The bride, identified as Lauren, recited her wedding vows in a July 2017 ceremony in Ayrshire, Scotland, according to the video posted online. In them, she said she loved that her groom, identified as Ryan, took pictures of her favorite dog breed for her.

“I love that you have taken in my passion or obsession for Westies,” Lauren said, referring to the nickname for West Highland White Terriers.

Lauren’s voice was cracking as she recited her wedding vows, but she broke down in tears later on at her wedding reception.

Ryan surprised his bride by having a Westie puppy hand-delivered to Lauren in a basket.

In the video posted on YouTube Monday, Lauren can be seen wiping back tears as she pets the dog presented to her.

The puppy was a three-and-a-half week old Westie, according to the video. The couple could not be reached by ABC News for comment.
