Dallas Pizzeria Creates Epic Response to Pizza Hut's Hot Dog Pie

It's a 10-pound behemoth with seven different meats.

— -- You’ve probably heard by now that Pizza Hut released a pizza this week with pigs in a blanket rimming the pie -- 28 of them, in fact.

When the Dallas Observer found out, they couldn’t resist challenging local pizzeria Zoli’s to make their own version.

Zoli’s answered in spectacular fashion with a 10-pound stuffed pizza behemoth.

“We were all laughing about the new Pizza Hut pizza, that it’s crazy and obscene and thought we’d do a parody of that,” Zoli’s area manager Joe Gibbons told ABC News. “So we got together with some of the local chefs in the area and everybody contributed a meat product and we tried to come up with the most over-the-top pizza as possible.”

They named their creation the “Death Wish,” which accurately describes the result, which took 45 minutes to cook.

“It was just really rich and buttery and full of the best meats. Each one of those meats on their own would have been a lot to handle, but mixed together with all the cheese was crazy,” Gibbons said. “You had to bite off a little piece at a time; you couldn’t tackle a whole piece – it was impossible.”

Though Zoli’s does not plan to offer the pie to the public, they are considering offering the hot dog-stuffed garlic knots.
