'Dear Pope Francis': Pope Francis Answers Kids' Questions in Children's Book

Pope Francis answers letters from children around the world.

— -- In his newly released book, Pope Francis answers letters from children around the world, helping them with their everyday problems, big and small.

The pope answered William by telling him, "I would heal every child."

Francis, 79, met with his young correspondents this week in Rome and they presented him with gifts from their homelands -- including maple syrup from Canada, a soccer ball from the United States and a pair of UGG boots from Australia.

The children told “GMA” that their visit with the pope was life-altering and nerve-wracking.

"One moment, I felt excited, but then I thought, this is probably the only time I'm ever going to meet him, so I don't want to blow this," one of the children, Ryan Khandelwal, a 9-year-old from Canada, told "GMA."

The book may be for children, but readers of all ages will find interesting details, including that the Pope says he cries often, loves to dance the tango and is passionate about soccer.

"Dear Pope Francis" was published on Feb. 1.
