4 Delicious Recipes to Help You Keep Your 2016 Weight-Loss Resolution
Eat healthier in the new year with these yummy and easy-to-make recipes.
-- Year after year, one of the most popular New Year's resolutions is to transform eating habits for the better. Even though making a health conscious resolution is a great start, it can sometimes be difficult to find recipes that satisfy your taste buds and are good for you too. That's where we come in.
ABC News' Nutrition & Wellness editor Dave Zinczenko recommended several recipes straight from his "Zero Belly Cookbook" for anyone who is trying to improve their eating habits. These recipes are not only delicious and easy-to-make, but they all have a high nutritional value and are sure to keep you on track with your healthy-eating resolution all year long.
"To take control of your health in 2016, you have to take control of your food supply," Zinczenko said. "There's no better way to do that than to get into the kitchen and roll up your sleeves."
Here are a few recipes from the "Zero Belly Cookbook" to help you keep your weight-loss resolutions on track this year.
Zero Belly Cookbook's Eggs Benedict: Get the recipe here.
A recipe that takes just 15 minutes to make and nails Zinczenko's "big three:" protein, fiber, and healthy fat.
Zero Belly Cookbook's Spicy Popcorn: Get the recipe here.
"Popcorn gets a bad rap because popular brands use palm oil or partially hydrogenated soybean oil, which raises your bad cholesterol and turns a healthy snack into a sopping mess of fat and calories," Zinczenko said. "Instead, pop the kernels in virgin coconut oil, which is rich in antioxidants and lauric acid which can raise your 'good' HDL cholesterol levels."
Zero Belly Cookbook's Classic Beef Burgers: Get the recipe here.
"Yes, you can eat burgers and lose belly fat. The Zero Belly Classic Beef Burger is packed with 25 grams of protein and just 9 grams of fat, but still tastes awesomely juicy and rich," said Zinczenko.
Zero Belly Cookbook's Flourless Chocolate Cake: Get the recipe here.
This recipe lets you have your cake and eat it too. "This dessert is just 220 calories and features one of the most powerful weapons against belly fat, the Zero Belly Superfood that might also be the most delicious - chocolate," said Zinczenko.
