Determined Postal Worker Delivers Lost Letter Addressed 'To Grandma'

— -- A lost letter addressed "To Grandma From Abby" was delivered to its rightful owner this week, thanks to a postal worker who refused to give up.
Canada Post carrier Natasha Villeneuve told ABC News that her colleague showed her the mail two weeks ago. Because the envelope did not include a house number or return address, it could not be delivered.
On July 8, Villeneuve, 38, uploaded a photo of the mail to Facebook in hopes of tracking down the intended recipient.
She wrote: "Anyone in Perth know who is a Grandma of an Abby on RR3??? No return address and we'd love to deliver it!!"
Villeneuve's post was shared over 15,000 times. She received a number of responses from grandmothers across the country saying the letter was theirs, but she wasn't able to confirm their claims. However, the news eventually reached a woman named Dawn Kierans of Perth, Ontario.
Dawn does not have Facebook, but learned about the letter through a paramedic who answered a call at her home one night when she experienced a spell, Villeneuve said. A neighborhood friend was able to connect her family with Villeneuve.
On July 13, Villeneuve delivered the letter to Dawn in person.
"She recognized the handwriting right away," Villeneuve said. "I wanted to go and see her because she's such a sweet lady. She's got a bit of spitfire in her too. She was saying how there was other grandmas trying to swoop in and steal her letter. She said, 'It's my granddaughter, it's my letter.'"
Abby's dad Peter Rozmovits of Montreal told ABC News that his mother-in-law was "delighted" to receive mail from her granddaughter.
"She would never have wanted it to be lost," Rozmovits said. "It's a very important, very meaningful letter to her even if it's just a couple of words. The story really is all about [Natasha] putting out all that effort. We are very grateful and utterly surprised at the reaction of the community."
In her letter to grandma, Abby, 11, said she was having fun at sleepaway camp and was looking forward to seeing her.
Villeneuve hopes she and Abby's family can have a reunion barbecue in the near future.
