Enchanting 'Beauty and the Beast' Proposal Ends Happily Ever After
Brenden McNeil surprised Kaley McLean on stage during her performance as Belle.
-- It’s a tale as old as time. Song as old as rhyme. Beauty and the Beast.
That’s the enchanting love story between these two 23-year-olds from Sanford, Florida, who got engaged on Oct. 2.
Brenden McNeil surprised his girlfriend, Kaley McLean, on stage at the Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center while she was playing Belle in “Beauty and the Beast.”
He had secretly learned the song unbeknownst to her with the help from the show’s directors, and joined her for the closing number before dropping to one knee to pop the question.
The proposal was also a surprise for the rest of the cast and crew.
"I was honestly just confused at first and of course very surprised!," McLean told ABC News. "Then when Brenden started singing along with me I was just like, 'what is going on?!'"
McNeil asked his beloved Belle’s hand in marriage, and needless to say, his princess said “yes.”
The two celebrated after the performance with friends and family, and of course an ornate cake with a topper that read “A Tale as Old as Time” across the top, and even had cookies with the enchanted rose decorated onto them.
Now, the two are planning to live happily ever after.
"We are not exactly sure of any wedding details yet, but I know our engagement photos are going to be 'Beauty and the Beast' themed!," said the bride-to-be.
