Girl Who Lost Her Baby Brother Overwhelmed by Surprise Beyoncé Tickets
"She’s such a strong kid and she’s really pulled through," said her mom.
-- Meet Jeselle Vega, one of Beyoncé’s biggest fans.
Jeselle, 11, has had a really tough year. After being so excited to become a big sister, her baby brother was born as a stillborn in April, devastating the entire family.
“He was 36 weeks so he was almost there,” Jeselle’s mom, Juanita Vega, of Santa Maria, California, told ABC News. “It’s been a process for all of us. But she’s such a strong kid and she’s really pulled through and is doing great in school and in her afterschool activities. She does competitive cheer. She’s a really good kid.”
Knowing how traumatic the experience was for their daughter, Jeselle’s parents wanted to do something extra special for her.
“We saw that Beyoncé added some extra tour dates. She’s going to be in Santa Clara on Saturday, and [Jeselle’s] birthday was just this Monday," explained Juanita. "I wanted to wait until the morning of the concert to tell her to pack her bags, but her dad wanted to do it on her actual birthday. I put the tickets in a little Sephora bag so she thought was getting lip glosses or something.”
Juanita captured her daughter’s amazing reaction to the surprise on camera and posted the heartwarming video to Twitter. In just one day, it racked up 2,500 likes and 1,300 retweets.
“It was everything we could have asked for. It was a great day,” Juanita said of pulling off the epic surprise.
She and her daughter can’t wait to have a much-needed girl’s night getting in “Formation.”
