Man Records Girlfriend's Reaction to His Proposal By Hiding a GoPro in Ring Box

Kyle Lawson of Wisconsin captured the entire proposal to his girlfriend, Stef.

— -- One man's unique marriage proposal to his girlfriend is creating Internet buzz after he planted a GoPro camera inside the engagement ring box to capture her reaction.

Lawson, 26, said it was sometime in August when he decided he was going to pop the question to Stef Bunday, his girlfriend of six months.

Lawson said he wanted to do something unorthodox to capture the special moment.

"Since her family lives in Colorado, I knew I wanted some way to document it a little bit and Stef and I, whenever we have exciting news or an announcement to share, we like to do something unique," he said. "Somehow, I thought, maybe I could make a custom ring box and put the GoPro in there."

On Oct. 16, the day he was proposing, Lawson carried the ring around with him, casually opening the box and giving a hilarious play-by-play of what he was feeling by speaking into the camera.

"I thought, maybe I should put together a 'day in the life with the ring' so we would have a fun way to tell friends and family the exciting news," Lawson said. "I really wanted to show her how ridiculously nervous I was the whole day."

Toward the end of the video, Lawson opens the box and asks Stef to marry him at a mock art exhibition, where she thought he was presenting his photography.

"I didn't want her to know a proposal was happening," he said. "I told her that I was contacted by the museum to feature my work and for me to come in and present it to them. So, Stef thought she was coming to watch me."

Bunday, 27, said she was clueless about Lawson's intentions.

"I was completely blindsided. I had no idea there was a camera in the box," she said. "As far as him going above and beyond, he goes above and beyond everyday in our relationship. He's the sweetest guy I've ever met."
