'Milk drunk' ring bearer falls asleep on the job at parent's wedding
Maxen River Pierce fell asleep while making it down the aisle in a funny video.
-- One ring bearer couldn't keep his eyes open on the big day -- even if it was his parent's wedding.
Nine-month-old Maxen River Pierce served as the ring bearer at David and Roselee Pierce's Oct. 21 nuptials at Champagne Manor in Monroe, Louisiana.
David Pierce, 35, told ABC News that it was his now-wife's idea to have their son do the honors.
And because he's still a baby, they decided he'd ride down the aisle in a remote-controlled toy car. There was even a sign on the front of the car that read: "Daddy, here comes mommy!"
"I'm standing at the altar so I got the best view of it," the Charlotte, North Carolina, groom gushed. "It was just hilarious. I mean, he was taking a nap and it was time to ride down the aisle."
The Pierces welcomed 240 guests at their French-themed wedding that featured a live performance of The Platters' Monroe Powell singing "Only You."
Their wedding theme was a nod to the fact that David Pierce proposed to his bride on May 2, 2016, while vacationing in Paris "with the Eiffel Tower sparkling in the background," he added.
Asked how his son did as the ring bearer? David Pierce had nothing but high marks.
"He's quite the character. He has quite the personality. He's just hilarious. He's just a superstar on a daily basis. He was built for fame," the new father said.
